TOPICS

  1. Experimental and analytical study on buildings, bridges and other civil structures applying seismic response control technique.
  2. Design and application of seismic response control technique to buildings, bridges and other civil structures.
  3. Observation and monitoring of buildings, bridges and other civil structures applying seismic response control technique.
  4. Research and development of seismic response control devices, which are innovative, or reliable and low-cost.
  5. Measures against seismic events beyond expectations such as mega-earthquakes, long period earthquakes and vertical motions.
  6. Education and promotion of seismic response control technique to structural engineers, students and non-engineers.
  7. Standards for design, construction, maintenance.
  8. Contribution to a sustainable society by applying seismic response control technique, or social, economic and financial aspects.
  9. International cooperation on research and development of seismic response control technique.

SPECIAL SESSION

At the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, buildings with seismic isolation system and response control devises experienced large shaking due to an earthquake. While the effect of response control technologies is confirmed, a number of problems became apparent. In order to share this experience with researchers around the world, the Japan Society of Seismic Isolation decided to organize the special session entitled "Lessons of the 2011 Great East Japan (Tohoku) Earthquake" during the conference. The detail of the session will be announced soon.

PROGRAM

The detail schedule and program of the conference as of 9th September are available now.
